Často kladené otázky

I practise sport late in the evening and am very hungry afterwards. Please give me some facts about eating at night!

Alex Aligizakis

First of all, eating at night has no adverse effects on health or diet. There is nothing wrong with eating your meal after 11 pm and going to bed shortly afterwards. It is the overall energy intake you must pay attention to. To keep your weight, you should not consume more energy than you have expended over the day. If you have practised sport late in the evening it is important to refresh your energy level, especially the glycogen stores have to be refilled by eating coarbohydrtaes. After sports it is not advisable to go to bed without eating anything. The only thing you have to watch out for is the kind of foods you are eating. Recommended foods for late diners are carbohydrates, e.g. noodles or potatoes, and also some meat, especially if you do sports regularly. Make sure to take meat with less fat - for example, some poultry. Sport, together with the right sort of food, is good for your health and makes you feel good.
