An international expert meeting, focusing on the "Health significance of fat quality of the diet", took place in Barcelona on 1st and 2nd February 2009. This podcast gathers the feedback of three key experts who actively participated in this meeting and represent the viewpoints of governmental organisations, science communicators and academics.
In June 2014, the 11th ISSFAL Biennial Congress took place in Stockholm, Sweden. This meeting provided a unique occasion for the exchange of scientific results in the lipid science field. It facilitated the interactions between a wide range of audiences from clinicians, scientists, health professionals, to opinion leaders and advocacy groups. This year, the programme attracted over 600 participants and covered three major topics: Biochemistry and Metabolism of Fatty Acids, Lipids in Health and Disease, and Lipids in Nutrition. During the congress, EUFIC interviewed 7 renowned speakers who summarised their research on lipids and fatty acids.
Organised by the International Association for the Study of Obesity (IASO) the 11th International Congress of Obesity took place in Stockholm 11th to 15th of July 2010. The Congress gathered scientists from around the globe to present their latest research findings and to discuss how these might affect efforts to halt and reverse the obesity epidemic. In this podcast, EUFIC interviewed key speakers at the conference regarding the projects they are involved in.

The latest Regulation by the European Commission on nutrition and health claims on foods has now been adopted and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) is currently assessing numerous potential claims for their scientific substantiation. In a podcast interview, EUFIC spoke with Prof. Klaus Grunert and Prof. Wim Verbeke, two renowned experts in consumer research, about how consumers perceive different claims in different product contexts.

The European Food Information Council (EUFIC) is a non-profit organisation which communicates science-based information on nutrition and health, food safety and quality, to help consumers to be better informed when choosing a well-balanced, safe and healthful diet.
