Is it possible to develop a milk and peanut allergy at the age of forty?

Germany

Most people develop allergies to one or another substance before the age of forty, though it can come on at any age. So, yes it’s possible to get a milk and peanut allergy even at forty. But the risk of getting allergies tends to decline in later life. With increasing age our immune system starts to respond more slowly to potential allergens. That’s also the reason why allergies often vanish in the second half of life.
