The EU-funded project EATWELL has been initiated in response to the many policy interventions that have been launched in Europe addressing unhealthy diets - the promotion of fruit and vegetable consumption, nutrition labelling, regulation of school meals and public sector canteens. Have they been shown to be effective? If not, how can that be improved? EATWELL is tasked with finding these answers.
The research project aims to make an overview of the actions undertaken in the different countries, identifying gaps, success and failure factors for the campaigns. This will be a great help for policy-makers when setting future interventions.
In a podcast interview with EUFIC, EATWELL’s coordinator, Professor Bruce Traill, outlines the key aims and objectives of this important research programme.
