What is podcasting?
Podcasting is a way to receive audio and/or video files over the Internet. Many content providers, including EUFIC, offer podcast feeds at no cost. These feeds deliver audio/video broadcasts to your desktop. You can listen to these files on your computer or load them on your MP3 player and take them with you for viewing or listening whenever you want.
Getting started
All you need to get started is podcasting software. Once you download and install the software, simply add one of EUFIC's podcast feeds. The podcasting software will automatically check for updates and download the files to your computer so you can load them on your MP3 player.

In June 2009, the Conference of the International Society of Behavioural Nutrition and Physical Activity took place in Cascais, Portugal. The conference gathered experts from around the globe to discuss effective interventions for the control of obesity and other diseases related to poor diet and inactivity. In a podcast interview, EUFIC spoke with Dr. Mikael Fogelholm, Director of the Health Research Unit at the Academy of Finland, about what keeps people from being physically active and how those barriers could be overcome.
An international expert meeting, focusing on the "Health significance of fat quality of the diet", took place in Barcelona on 1st and 2nd February 2009. This podcast gathers the feedback of three key experts who actively participated in this meeting and represent the viewpoints of governmental organisations, science communicators and academics.

Professor Blair details the risk associated with cardiovascular disease whilst Professor Biddle focuses on inactivity amongst Europe’s adolescents.
Food in Action 2007 looks at the motivational and behavioural aspects of obesity. Starting with how food choice develops in a young age, through consumer’s attitudes and behaviour towards food label information, Food in Action 2007 investigates the influence of the environment and the importance that psychological aspects play in the onset of obesity in an early age. Finally, the important role of physical activity in energy balance is tackled, together with ongoing initiatives and programmes aiming at finding solutions.
