We are preparing standard Good Agriculture Practice (GAP) and therefore are looking for European Commsion recomandations how to prepare Good Agriculture Practice (guidelines) and GUIDELINES HOW TO BUILD THE FOODSAFETY CRITERIA IN OUR GOOD AGRICULTURE PRACTICE. We would like to use this document for comunication with our foodchain (foodprocessing industry, feed industry and retail). Can you provide us some guideline and food safety contacts?

The most recent publication on GAP guidelines within the EU can be found at:
http://europa.eu.int/comm/agriculture/publi/reports/coexistence2/index_en.htm
they were published as guidelines to ensure the co-existence of genetically modified crops with conventional and organic farming. However, GAP as they are dicussed here have nothing to do with Foodsafety. For all food safety questions we recommend to contact the European Food Safety Authority.
Contact date can be found on their website at

Foods destined for international trade should be produced according to the Codex Alimentarius document on the General Principles of Food Hygiene (CAC/RCP1-1969,Rev.3). In this document there is one section dealing particularly with hygienic practices for the primary agriculture industry. It deals particularly with the the safety of food, it contains little specific information but it is a good basis to start any guidelines for the primary agricuture industry as the basis for more specific guidelines.
