Často kladené otázky

Is it true that a diet too rich in proteins (including dairy products) causes a loss of bone calcium?

It is important to realise that the quantity of calcium fixed in the bones depends on the quantity of calcium absorbed by the intestine, and the amount eliminated by the kidneys in the urine. In the short term, high protein consumption can cause calcium loss through urine. This effect is offset, however, by the quantity of calcium absorbed by the intestine. Most studies show that high consumers of animal proteins have a higher bone weight than lower animal protein consumers. It is important to consume proteins in sufficient quantity to keep the bones healthy.
