Most grains, such as wheat or corn, are not edible when raw. Milling and grinding are two food processing techniques needed to make grains digestible as they turn grains into various types of flours. The flour can then be used to prepare baked goods like bread and cakes. The journey from harvesting grains to making bread can be followed in our infographic.
