Food science communication trainings

At EUFIC, we work at the interface of food science and public understanding. Our live online trainings are designed to help food, nutrition, and health professionals translate complex scientific evidence into communication that is accurate, relevant, and trustworthy.

Whether you aim to strengthen public engagement, communicate more effectively, or build a credible presence on specific online platforms, our training focuses on one central objective: ensuring that robust science is both understood and trusted, without compromising scientific integrity.

Each session combines current research in science and health communication with practical examples drawn from campaigns, social media practice, and our three decades of experience in food science communication.

Why train with EUFIC?

• Three decades of specialised expertise: For 30 years, EUFIC has focused on food science communication. We have delivered trainings for institutions including the European Parliament, European Commission, the Federation of European Nutrition Societies, universities, and research consortia across Europe. We have also led or partnered on more than 80 European projects, including projects such as FoodStories, where we developed evidence-informed storytelling resources for food researchers.
• Evidence-based and practice-oriented learning: Our sessions connect theory to application. We draw directly on research in science communication, health communication, and risk communication, while grounding discussions in real-life cases, campaign examples, and practical exercises. Our aim is for participants to leave with tools they can apply immediately to their own communication efforts.
• Live and interactive: All trainings take place live. Participants can ask questions and engage in discussion with trainers and peers. To encourage active participation and open dialogue, sessions are not recorded.
• Structured takeaways: After every training session, you’ll receive a comprehensive summary document that captures key concepts, frameworks, tools, and additional resources.
• Accessible and flexible: Hosted live on Zoom, our trainings are easy to join from anywhere. We aim to keep prices accessible, so even students and early-career professionals can take part.
